Headquarters conferences has two brand-new, unique, insightful programs coming in May. Understanding Haunting Experiences: Ghosts, Hauntings, Phantom Phenomena, and Their Relevance to Our Lives. May 4-6 brings together top ghost hunters, psychics, investigators, and academics like Echo Bodine and Loyd Auerbach to bring you the latest research as well as incredible stories and documentation of otherworldly encounters. And May 18-20’s Secret Teachings and Esoteric Wisdom, featuring Adrian Gilbert, Mitch Horowitz, and others, will explore the mythology and meaning surrounding some of history’s most enduring enigmas, such as the Stone of Destiny, the Templars in America, Manly P. Hall’s Secret Teachings, and other fascinating and mystical traditions.
NEW RESEARCH ROOM IN A.R.E. LIBRARY
In October of 2011 we sent a letter to our library patrons asking them to help us with ideas for a new research room we wanted to create. We received many generous donations to make this happen. The new research room is a brightly-lit, quiet space in the back of our current periodicals room. It is a cozy space to do research, search on your laptop, or relax and read your favorite book! Your contributions really make a difference and with your support, this imagined research room became a reality. Please stop by and visit the room during your next trip to Headquarters!

The new de Laski Family Foundation Education Center will become home to Atlantic University, the Cayce-Reilly School of Massotherapy, and the Edgar Cayce Foundation. Once completed, the Cayce-Miller Café (and Copeland Dining Room) will be constructed on the first floor of the original Edgar Cayce hospital. COL. HAZEL ZACHER DONATES $100,000 TO ENDOW CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Longtime A.R.E. member Ret. Col. Hazel Zachar loves making a difference in people’s lives. She set up a scholarship for high achieving, college-bound girls in her Iowa hometown. She served as an Army nurse for many years. And now, she has donated $100,000 to create “Hazel’s Fund” – an endowed scholarship fund for people looking to attend A.R.E. Conferences, both in Virginia Beach and around the country. Hazel attended Kevin Todeschi’s conference in San Antonio, TX where she now lives, and when she heard about the upcoming C.R.E.A.T.E. Campaign and the need for endowed funds, she took action. Her generosity will serve spiritual seekers for generations to come. God bless you, Hazel! And thanks.

WARNING! LEARN FROM THIS DEVOTED MEMBER’S MISTAKE
Recently, a long-term A.R.E. member passed away, leaving a significant portion of her estate to the organization which clearly had meant a great deal to her over the years. It was clear from her will, as well as conversations with family members, that she wanted very much to benefit the A.R.E. upon her death. Unfortunately, even though she carefully stated it in her will, the gift simply didn’t work. WHAT HAPPENED? She had taken the first and very important step of creating a will and stating her wishes. She had even signed it, but she had not had her will properly witnessed under the laws of her state. For that reason – a legal technicality - her will was deemed invalid. Her estate passed intestate (as if she had no will) to her closest living relative according to the laws of her state and not in accordance with her wishes.
Make Sure Your Intentions Will Be Carried Out. If you wish to leave part of your legacy to the A.R.E., we can help you be certain that YOUR wishes will be carried out. If you have any questions about a will you have already signed, or if you are thinking about having a new will prepared, please contact Susan Luscomb at susan.luscomb@edgarcayce.org or call 757-457-7125 for help.
