VOLUNTEERS ALWAYS NEEDED!
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization and here in Charlottesville, we have some of the best volunteers anywhere. We are a very congenial group and many meaningful friendships have been formed. Most of all—we have a lot of fun!
We are always looking for enthusiastic, dedicated people to
become part of our team. There are only a few prerequisites. All volunteers must be
members of the A.R.E. They must commit to attending the majority of our
programs. And volunteers need to attend an occasional organizational
meeting.
In exchange, volunteers have the option of attending our programs at no charge, and when appropriate, are extended an invitation to join our speaker for dinner after the program. Depending on the size of the program and the venue, we do not use all our volunteers at each program and will at times rotate positions so everyone has an opportunity to serve.
Volunteers will be trained in what is expected of us as stewards of Unity Church. This includes restrictions, lighting, temperature regulation, room and stage set-up, and clean-up.
Here’s what one of our volunteers had to say about what it means to share their time and talents with our group:
“Being an A.R.E. C'Ville volunteer over these past months has given me the opportunity to be part of a very unique family. Our personalities are such that we know what the other is thinking a lot of the time, so we are able to intuitively know what needs to be done often before anything is said. I've been exposed to some wonderful programs and gotten the opportunity to meet some really insightful people that bring their essence of the Edgar Cayce experience to our group here in Charlottesville. I've been very blessed to be a part of this organization, but especially to be a part of this steering committee circle of friends.” – Vivienne Smith.
